Tafsir of Surah an-Nur
The aim of this researh is to discuss Surah an-Nūr within the framework of thematic tafsīr and to explain the messages intended to be given by Surah al-Nūr in the integrity of the Qur’ān. The study consists of an introduction and two main parts. As an introduction, the subject, importance and method of the study are presented together with the references. Also a brief introduction to the history of tafsīr is made in the introduction part. Later the thematic tafsīr which focuses on the integrity of the sūrah is explained since it is the methodology of this research. In the first part, general information about Surah an-Nūr is given in terms of the naming of the surah, the number of its verses, the date of its revelation, and its virtues. The meaning relationship of the surah with the previous and subsequent surahs is analyzed, and the features that are unique to this surah in the Qur’an are discussed. After the etymological analysis of the word “Nūr”, the content of the surah is briefly summarized. In the second part, Surah an-Nūr is analyzed verse by verse by making use of classical and mo-dern tafsir sources. part, words and concepts that are difficult to understand are clarified and the environment in which the verses were revealed is tried to determine by examining the reasons for their revelation. The provisions mentioned in the Surah are explained and, when necessary, jurisprudential disputes are included. The connections between the verses are handled in a concise manner, and within the framework of these connections, the integrity of the surah and the axis within this integrity are tried to be captured. By evaluating these verses within the integrity of the Qur’an, the method of tafsir of the Qur’an with the Qur’an has been applied and the mes-sages intended to be given with these verses have been tried to be determined.
