Bu çalışmada, Kur’ân-ı Kerîm’in İbraniceye yapılan çevirileri tarihsel süreç içerisinde ele alınarak mütercimlerin yaklaşımları, çeviri yöntemleri ve metne yansıyan yorum farklılıkları incelenmiştir. Araştırmada, geçmişten günümüze kadar hazırlanmış on bir İbranice Kur’an çevirisi değerlendirilmiştir.

Hebrew Translations of the Qur’an in the Context of the
Jewish–Islamic Polemic
This study examines Hebrew translations of the Qur’ān within their
historical development, focusing on the translators’ approaches, translation
methods, and interpretive differences reflected in the translated
texts. The research evaluates eleven Hebrew translations of the Qur’ān
produced from the past to the present. Six of these translations were
prepared by Jewish translators, while five were authored by Muslim
translators. The study consists of two main chapters. The first chapter
introduces the Hebrew translations of the Qur’ān and examines the
circumstances surrounding their production, the scholarly and intellectual
backgrounds of their translators, and the methodological preferences
they adopted. The second chapter comparatively analyzes the
translations of Qur’ānic verses related to issues of Jewish–Islamic polemics
as rendered by Jewish and Muslim translators. In this context, historical
narratives, concepts of revelation and prophethood, conceptual
similarities between the Qur’ān and Jewish sacred texts, and various
theological issues are discussed. The analysis reveals that Jewish translators
at times interpreted the relevant verses through the lens of their
own religious and cultural backgrounds and, in some cases, offered interpretations
that diverged from the apparent meaning of the Qur’ānic
text. In contrast, Muslim translators generally tended to remain more
closely aligned with the Qur’ānic text and the classical Islamic exegetical
tradition. These findings demonstrate the significant role played by
translators’ religious and intellectual backgrounds in shaping Hebrew
translations of the Qur’ān
