Bu kitap, XVI. yüzyılın çok yönlü âlim ve sûfîlerinden Alâeddin Ali b. Hüsâmeddin el-Müttakî el-Hindî’nin (ö. 975/1567) el-Hikemü’l-İrfâniyye fî Meʿânî İrşâdiyye ve İşârâti Kur’âniyye adlı eserinin tenkitli neşrini, tercümesini ve tefsir merkezli tahlilini konu edinmektedir. Çalışmanın temel amacı, Müttakî el- Hindî’nin Kur’ân âyetlerini hikmet merkezli bir yorum tertibi içinde nasıl değerlendirdiğini ortaya koymak ve eserin işârî tefsir literatürüyle ilişkisini belirlemektir. Klasik işârî tefsir geleneği ile tasavvufî hikemiyat türünün kesişim noktasında yer alan bu eser, âyetleri mushaf sırasına göre değil; tevbe, takvâ, ilim, muhabbet ve sülûk gibi kavramlar etrafında ele alan muhtasar ve Kur’ân merkezli bir telif hüviyeti taşımaktadır. Kitap iki temel eksen üzerine kurulmuştur. Tahkik safhasında eserin tespit edilebilen yazma nüshaları karşılaştırılmış; Süleymaniye Kütüphanesi Bağdatlı Vehbi Efendi, nr. 757 nüshası, müellif adını açık biçimde kaydetmesi, ferâğ kaydını ihtiva etmesi, hikmetleri numaralandırması ve okunaklı bir yazıya sahip olması sebebiyle asıl nüsha olarak tercih edilmiştir. Ulaşılabilen nüshalarda toplam 535 hikmetin yer aldığı tespit edilmiş; okuyucuya takip kolaylığı sağlamak amacıyla neşirde hikmetler numaralandırılarak sunulmuştur. Metin tesisinde Türkiye Diyanet Vakfı İslâm Araştırmaları Merkezi tarafından yayımlanan İSAM Tahkikli Neşir Kılavuzu’nda belirtilen usul ve esaslar dikkate alınmıştır. Dirâse kısmında ise müellifin âyet ile hikmet arasındaki bağı kurarken başvurduğu yöntemler tefsir disiplini açısından incelenmiştir. Yapılan inceleme sonucunda, Müttakî el-Hindî’nin âyethikmet ilişkisini kurarken iki temel yol izlediği tespit edilmiştir. Bunlardan ilki, âyet lafzının doğrudan hikmet cümlesine taşındığı lafzî iktibas; ikincisi ise âyetlerin delâlet alanından ahlâkî ve irşâdî sonuçların süzüldüğü bir tür tefsir istidlâlidir. Müellifin mukaddimede doğrudan iktibasları göstermek üzere kullandığını belirttiği “ ق” rumuzu, bu yöntemin metin içinde bilinçli biçimde uygulandığını göstermektedir. Böylece eser, klasik sûre tertibine bağlı bir tefsir olmamakla birlikte, âyetleri hikmet dili içinde yeniden işleyen, tematik yapıya sahip muhtasar bir İşârî tefsir telifi olarak değerlendirilebilir.

The Wisdom-Oriented Reading of the Qur’an
This book presents a critical edition, translation, and tafsīrcentered
analysis of al-Ḥikam al-ʿIrfāniyya fī Maʿānī Irshādiyya wa
Ishārāt Qurʾāniyya, authored by the sixteenth-century polymath
scholar and Ṣūfī ʿAlāʾ al-Dīn ʿAlī b. Ḥusām al-Dīn al-Muttaqī al-
Hindī (d. 975/1567). The primary aim of the study is to
demonstrate how al-Muttaqī al-Hindī interprets Qurʾānic verses
within a wisdom-centered hermeneutical framework and to
determine the work’s relationship to the tradition of ishārī
(allusive/mystical) tafsīr. Situated at the intersection of the
classical ishārī exegetical tradition and the Ṣūfī genre of ḥikam
literature, the work possesses a concise and Qurʾān-centered
character in which the verses are discussed not according to the
canonical order of the muṣḥaf, but around thematic concepts
such as repentance, piety, knowledge, love, and spiritual
wayfaring (sulūk).
The book is structured around two principal axes. In the critical
editing phase, all accessible manuscript copies of the work were
comparatively examined. Among these, the Süleymaniye Library
manuscript, Bağdatlı Vehbi Efendi no. 757, was selected as the
base manuscript due to its explicit attribution to the author, the
inclusion of a colophon record, the numbering of the wisdom
statements (ḥikam), and its clear script. It was determined that
the extant manuscripts contain a total of 535 wisdom statements,
which have been numerically arranged in the edition to facilitate
ease of reference for the reader. The textual establishment was
carried out in accordance with the principles and procedures
outlined in the İSAM Critical Edition Guidelines published by the
TDV Centre for Islamic Studies (İSAM). In the analytical section
(dirāsa), the methods employed by the author in establishing the
relationship between Qurʾānic verses and wisdom statements are
examined from the perspective of tafsīr methodology.
The analysis demonstrates that al-Muttaqī al-Hindī employs two
principal methods in constructing the relationship between verse
and wisdom. The first is verbal quotation (lafẓī iqtibās), in which
the wording of the Qurʾānic verse is directly incorporated into the
wisdom statement. The second is exegetical inference (tafsīr
istidlālī), whereby ethical and spiritual conclusions are derived
from the semantic implications of the verses. The symbol “ ,”ق
which the author states in the introduction is used to indicate
direct quotations, reveals that this method was consciously and
systematically applied throughout the text. Accordingly, although
the work is not a tafsīr organized according to the classical order
of the sūrahs, it may nevertheless be regarded as a concise
thematic ishārī exegetical composition that rearticulates Qurʾānic
verses through the language of wisdom.
