İlmî Tefsir Hareketi Kur’an’ın Bilimsel Verilerle Yorumu ve Yorumcuları
Bu çalışma, ilmî tefsir hareketinin tarihsel gelişimini, düşünsel arka planını ve temel temsilcilerini ele alarak, hareketin bu süreçteki etkisini incelemektedir. İlmî tefsir, Kur’an’ı bilimsel veriler ışığında yorumlamayı hedefleyen bir yaklaşımdır. 19. yüzyıldan itibaren özellikle Batı’nın bilimsel ilerlemeleriyle İslam dünyasında ortaya çıkan entelektüel uyanışın bir tezahürü olarak öne çıkmıştır. Bu bağlamda, ilmî tefsir hareketi, yalnızca tefsir geleneğine değil, aynı zamanda İslam düşüncesine yönelik modernleşme çabalarının bir parçası olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmada, ilmî tefsirin temel varsayımları, metodolojisi ve Kur’an-bilim ilişkisine dair iddiaları tartışılmıştır. Yazarın görüşlerinde metafizik ile bilim arasında bir denge kurma gayreti, Kur’an’ın evrenselliğini vurgulayan yorumları ve doğa olaylarını ayetlerle ilişkilendirme çabalarının yanısıra dönemin bilimsel söylemiyle Kur’an arasındaki diyaloğun güçlendirilmesine yönelik yorumları dikkat çekmektedir. Metin, ilmî tefsirin zamanla maruz kaldığı eleştirileri de dikkate almakta ve bu yaklaşımın günümüzdeki karşılığını sorgulamaktadır. Gelenekselci ve literalist yorumlara karşılık, ilmî tefsirin dinamizmi, modern okuyucuya hitap etme gücü ve teolojik esneklik sunduğu savunulmaktadır. Sonuç olarak çalışma, ilmî tefsirin tarihsel önemini ve günümüz düşünsel bağlamındaki yerini ortaya koymaktadır.
Interpretation of the Qur’an through Scientific Data and
Its Commentators
This study examines the historical development, intellectual
background, and key figures of the scientific tafsir movement, investigating
its impact throughout this process. Scientific tafsir is an
approach that aims to interpret the Qur’an in the light of scientific
data. Emerging in the 19th century as a reflection of the intellectual
awakening in the Islamic world—particularly in response to
Western scientific advancements—it has been viewed not only as
a contribution to the tafsir tradition but also as part of the broader
modernization efforts within Islamic thought.
The study discusses the main assumptions and methodology
of scientific tafsir, as well as its claims regarding the relationship
between the Qur’an and science. The author’s attempt to
strike a balance between metaphysics and science, his interpretations
emphasizing the universality of the Qur’an, his efforts
to relate natural phenomena to Qur’anic verses, and his aim to
strengthen the dialogue between contemporary scientific discourse
and the Qur’an are particularly noteworthy.
The text also considers the criticisms scientific tafsir has
faced over time and questions its relevance in the present day.
In contrast to traditionalist and literalist interpretations, scientific
tafsir is defended for its dynamism, its ability to appeal to
the modern reader, and its theological flexibility. In conclusion,
this study reveals the historical significance of scientific tafsir
and its place in contemporary intellectual discourse.
