Miracle in Christianity -Truths Beyond Belief-
Miracles have, throughout human history, constituted one of the most
remarkable elements of religions. In Christianity, miracles not only express
the existence and power of God but also formed the cornerstones
of faith. During the life of Jesus Christ and the early church, miracles
were seen as a concrete indicator of divine love, becoming both a theological
and spiritual guide for Christians.
This book deals with the historical, theological, phenomenological, and
hermeneutic dimensions of how miracles are understood in Christianity.
It is therefore the first original work written in this format in Türkiye.
This books provides a comprehensive perspective starting from
the foundations of Biblical miracles and their interpretations by Church
Fathers to their place in Medieval theology, their perception in Reformed
theology, and how they are understood in Modern theology. In
addition, the meaning of miracles is not only mentioned as a historical
phenomenon but also in the lives of modern Christians.
The Christian understanding of miracles opens important discussions
vis-à-vis the relationship between natural laws, divine intervention, and
faith. This book therefore not only serves as a theological examination
but also seeks to answer philosophical and scientific questions about
miracles, focusing on such fundamental issues as the impact of miracles
on the Christian faith, the way God communicates with humanity,
and how miracles are perceived in the modern world. We hope that
this book will appeal to all Western and Eastern theologians, students,
researchers, and all individuals seeking to gain a better understanding
of miracles in Christianity. Again, our greatest hope is that this book
opens a door to understanding the concept of miracle in Christianity
and calls readers to undertake a journey into the depths of this divine
phenomenon.
