In a very general sense, the biography, which literally means "a person's life story", is defined as the name given to "books that tell the life of the Prophet Muhammad".
But the life of the Prophet Muhammad is, above all, not the life of just any leader, but of a prophet. His life was written because he was a prophet. Therefore, the biography is not merely the story of a single life; it is the name given to the life of a prophet, connected to God through revelation, and under God's control, particularly in the dimensions of revelation and prophethood. It is lived by the Prophet Muhammad, and by his example, it is the name given to all Muslims.
In this context, a biography that truly belongs to the Prophet Muhammad and depicts his true life, free from all external interventions such as additions, omissions, manipulation, self-serving interpretations, and the like, is the Islamic understanding and practice of life that "God has chosen and declared acceptable." The biography is the name given to the example that establishes the Prophet's connection with God, makes the Quran a guide to life, and presents Islam as a life lived and to be lived. Therefore, just as there is no religion without the Prophet, there is also no Islamic life without the biography. The Quran cannot be properly understood without an understanding of the biography. In short, the path to achieving the goals targeted by the Quran and Islam is possible through a genuine biography. Therefore, a biography that ensures an accurate understanding of the life of the Prophet Muhammad, the primary source of Islam's practical life, is essential for Muslims.
