İslam inanç esasları, özü itibarıyla Allah’ın varlığı ve birliği merkezinde şekillenen, vahiy ile bildirilen sarsılmaz hakikatler bütünüdür. Ancak bu esaslar, sadece kalbî bir teslimiyetten ibaret olmayıp, insan zihninin en temel yetisi olan akıl üzerine inşa edilmiştir. İslam düşünce geleneğinde akıl, vahyin muhatabı ve imanın meşruiyet zeminidir; zira aklî bir muhakeme olmaksızın gerçekleşen tasdik, taklitten öteye geçemez. Bu bağlamda akaid ilmi, inanç esaslarını körü körüne bir kabulden çıkarıp, tahkikî iman seviyesine taşımayı amaçlar. Bilgiyle desteklenmeyen bir inanç, şüpheler karşısında savunmasız kalırken; aklî delillerle ve naklî verilerle örülen bir dindarlık, bireye hem iç huzuru hem de sarsılmaz bir dünya görüşü kazandırır. Neticede İslam akaidi, aklı dışlayan bir dogmatizmi reddederek, selim akıl ile sahih naklin tam bir uyum içinde olduğu bütüncül bir hakikat arayışını temsil eder. Bu çalışma, klasik kelâm literatürünün köklü birikimini modern akademik metodolojiyle harmanlayarak, başta ilahiyat öğrencileri ve araştırmacılar olmak üzere İslam inanç sistemini rasyonel bir düzlemde kavramak isteyen tüm okurları hedeflemektedir. Eserin temel amacı, inanç esaslarını sadece tarihsel birer veri olarak aktarmak değil; bu esasların günümüz insanının anlam arayışına nasıl rehberlik edebileceğini ve entelektüel problemler karşısında nasıl bir fikirsel zemin sunduğunu ortaya koymaktır. Metin boyunca takip edilen yöntem; her bir inanç meselesini sağlam delillerle temellendirmek, kavramsal karmaşadan uzak durmak ve okuyucuyu delile dayalı, tutarlı bir inanç tasavvuruna ulaştırmaktır. Bu yönüyle kitap, sadece bir bilgi aktarımı değil, aynı zamanda sağlıklı bir din anlayışının oluşması için bütüncül bir perspektif önerisidir.
Building Faith Under the Guidance of Reason
The fundamental tenets of the Islamic faith are, at their core, a set of
unshakable truths revealed through divine revelation and centered
on the existence and oneness of God. However, these tenets are not
merely a matter of heartfelt submission; they are built upon reason,
the most fundamental faculty of the human mind. In the Islamic intellectual
tradition, reason is the recipient of revelation and the foundation
of faith’s legitimacy; for affirmation without rational deliberation
cannot transcend mere imitation. In this context, the science of creed
aims to elevate the principles of faith from blind acceptance to the level
of a well-founded belief. A faith unsupported by knowledge remains
defenseless against doubts; whereas piety woven from rational proofs
and textual evidence grants the individual both inner peace and an
unshakable worldview. Ultimately, Islamic theology rejects a dogmatism
that excludes reason, representing a holistic quest for truth where
sound reason and authentic revelation are in perfect harmony. This
work aims to blend the profound heritage of classical kalam literature
with modern academic methodology, targeting not only theology students
and researchers but all readers seeking to understand the Islamic
system of belief on a rational plane. The primary aim of this work is not
merely to present the fundamentals of faith as historical data, but to
demonstrate how these principles can guide the modern individual’s
search for meaning and provide an intellectual foundation in the face
of contemporary challenges. The approach followed throughout the
text is to ground each matter of faith in solid evidence, avoid conceptual
confusion, and guide the reader toward an evidence-based, coherent
conception of faith. In this regard, the book is not merely a transmission
of information but also a proposal for a holistic perspective aimed
at fostering a sound understanding of religion.
