“İnsan Fiilleri” alt başlığı ile kaleme alınan Akademik Kelâm Yazıları -III- adlı bu eser, insan fiilleri konusunu hem klasik kelâm birikimi hem de modern düşünsel ihtiyaçlar çerçevesinde ele alan derleme bir çalışmadır. Eserde, insanın eylemlerinin mahiyeti, ilahî kudret ile insan iradesi arasındaki ilişki, özgürlük, sorumluluk, kesb ve istitaat gibi temel kavramlar ele alınmakta; bu meselelerin tarihsel, siyasal ve toplumsal arka planla nasıl bağlantılı olduğu gösterilmektedir. Ayrıca kader, kaza, hidayet-dalâlet, hüsün-kubuh ve teodise gibi konuların insan fiilleriyle ilişkili yönleri de açıklanmaktadır. Farklı kelâm ekollerinin ya da bu ekollere mensup âlimlerin konuya dair yaklaşımları karşılaştırmalı biçimde işlenmekte; Ehl-i sünnet, Mu‘tezile, Eş‘arî ve Mâtürîdî geleneklerinin görüşleri, ilahî sıfatlar ve bunların insanın eylemleriyle olan ilişkisi bağlamında sade bir dille okuyucuya sunulmaktadır.

Academic Writings on Kalām -III- is a collective work that examines the
issue of human acts from multiple perspectives within the framework
of the classical kalām tradition and contemporary intellectual needs.
The volume addresses central theological problems such as the nature
of human acts, the relationship between divine power and human will,
responsibility, freedom, acquisition (kasb), and human capacity (istita
ʿa), situating these discussions within their historical background and
doctrinal debates. The work demonstrates that the question of human
acts is not merely a theoretical problem but has, since the early period,
been closely connected to political and social developments. In this context,
it also highlights the intersections of the topic with issues such as
destiny (qadar), decree (qaḍāʾ), guidance and misguidance, ethical value
(ḥusn–qubḥ), and theodicy.
The book presents a comparative analysis of the approaches of various
kalām schools to human acts. The Sunnī tradition’s doctrine of kasb, the
notion that creation belongs exclusively to God, the nature of human
participation in action, and the concept of istitaʿa are examined through
textual, rational, and conceptual frameworks. The Muʿtazilite school’s
emphasis on a broad understanding of human free will, the more mediating
position of the Māturīdī tradition, and the Ashʿarite emphasis on
the determinative role of divine will are discussed throughout the work
from different angles. Thus, the relationship between human acts and
the system of divine attributes -particularly God’s knowledge, will, and
power- is explored through a holistic perspective.
Academic Writings on Kalām -III- also investigates the epistemological,
ontological, and moral dimensions of human acts within kalām thought.
Issues such as human knowledge acquisition, the grounding of moral
responsibility, the limits of freedom, and the position of human action in
relation to divine decree are re-evaluated in light of classical sources and
modern discussions. In this framework, classical approaches that interpret
human acts through both divine creative will and the human acquixi
sitive dimension are presented systematically from various viewpoints.
In conclusion, the volume constitutes a comprehensive academic study
that examines the problem of human acts within the historical continuity
of kalām, brings together the perspectives of different theological
schools in a comparative framework, and underscores the relevance of
these debates to contemporary thought.
