İslâm Tarihi Araştırmaları ve Yazımında Usûl isimli çalışma, İslâm tarihi ve diğer beşerî disiplinlerde yüksek lisans ve doktora yapan akademisyen adaylarının yaşadıkları problemler dikkate alınarak hazırlandı. “Sahih bilgi olmadan doğru yorum ve nitelikli çalışmalar yapılamaz.” fehvasınca, çalışmanın birinci bölümünde İslâm tarihinin ortaya çıkış sebepleri, süreci, anlamı, konusu, sınırları, dönemleri, faydaları, problemleri, genel tarihin yanı sıra diğer disiplinlerle ilişkisi, müellifleri, kaynakları ve bu kaynakların temel sorunları gibi hususlar üzerinde durulmaktadır. Usûlün esas kadar önemli ve usulsüzlüğün vusûlsüzlük olduğu anlayışından hareketle kitabın ikinci bölümünde ise usûlle ilgili bilgiler verilmektedir. Bu bağlamda tez, makale ve tebliğ gibi yazım türlerinin temel felsefesi, şekli, bölümleri, her bölümde nelerin, nerede, ne kadar ve nasıl yazılması gerektiğine ilişkin bilgiler ele alınmaktadır. Aynı şekilde alıntı yapma şekilleri, bilimsel üslup, dipnot ve kaynakça oluşturma şekli gibi hususlara değinilmektedir. Daha da önemlisi, tarihin malzemesi olan rivayetlere nasıl yaklaşılması, aynı konudaki farklı rivayetlerden doğru olanın nasıl tespit edilebileceği, tarihle ilgili karşılaşılan cümlelerin doğruluk derecelerini tespit ederken tarihin hangi ilkelerinin dikkate alınması gerektiğine dair bilgiler paylaşılmaktadır. Ayrıca bu kitap yüksek lisansın yanı sıra doktora programı, doktora yeterlilik, asistanlık ve doçentlik mülakatı gibi sınavlara hazırlanacaklar için bir başvuru kitabı niteliği taşımaktadır.
Methodology in Islamic History Research and Writing
The book named Methodology in Islamic History Research
and Writing was prepared to address the challenges faced by
prospective academics pursuing master’s and doctoral degrees in
Islamic history and other humanities disciplines. In line with the
adage, “Correct interpretation and quality studies cannot be produced
without authentic knowledge.” the first section of the
book examines the reasons for the emergence of Islamic history,
its process, meaning, subject matter, boundaries, periods, benefits,
problems, its relationship with other disciplines as well as
general history, its authors, sources, and the fundamental problems
of these sources. Based on the understanding that methodology
is as important as the essence and that any irregularity is a
sign of non-attainment, the second section of the book provides
information on methodology. In this context, the book covers the
fundamental philosophy, format, and sections of writing styles
such as theses, articles, and papers, as well as information on
what, where, how much, and how to write in each section. It
also addresses issues such as citation methods, scientific style,
footnotes, and bibliography. More importantly, it provides information
on how to approach historical narratives, how to determine
the accuracy of different narratives on the same topic,
and which historical principles should be considered when assessing
the accuracy of historical statements. Furthermore, this
book serves as a reference for those preparing for master’s and
doctoral programs, as well as for interviews for doctoral qualifications,
assistantships, and associate professorships.
