Asr-ı Saadet’te yaşayarak Allah Rasûlü’ne (sav) sahâbe olma üstünlüğünü
elde etmiş neslin hayatları hakkında bilgi sahibi olmak,
dini anlama ve yaşama hususunda gayret eden Mü’minler
için büyük bir önem arz etmektedir. Bununla beraber sahâbîleri
tanımak tarihi olay ve olguların doğru anlaşılıp yorumlanmasına
ışık tutacağı gibi tarih ilmine de katkı sağlayacaktır. Buradan hareketle
bu çalışmada Rasûlullah’ın (sav) Medine’ye hicretinden
sonra Ensar’dan doğanların ilki olarak kabul edilen Nu‘mân b.
Beşîr’in (ra) hayatı ve faaliyetleri konu edilmiştir.
Araştırmacı yazım usulüne göre hazırlanan bu çalışmada nitel
araştırma yönteminin doküman incelemesi tekniği kullanılmıştır.
Ensâb, Tabakât, Tarih, Teracim, Hadis ve Fütuhât kitaplarında
dağınık halde bulunan bilgilerden elde edilen veriler ışığında
sistematik bir planlama yapılıp Nu‘mân b. Beşîr’in doğumundan
ölümüne kadar geçen süreç kronolojik bir düzen içerisinde sunulmaya
çalışılmıştır. Çalışmamız süresince doküman taraması,
incelemesi, veri toplama ve veri analizi yöntemleri uygulanmıştır.
Konu ile ilgili dokümanların analiz, sentez, değerlendirme,
karşılaştırma ve yorumlaması yapılmıştır. Nu‘mân b. Beşîr, Hz.
Peygamber’in (sav) Medine’ye hicretinin ikinci yılında Ensar
arasında dünyaya gelmiş çocukların ilki olması sebebiyle ismi
önem kazanmış bir kişidir. Çevresinde Kur’an ve sünnet eksenli
bir hayat tarzını önceleyen insanların olduğu, dolayısıyla
İslâm’ın hayat bulduğu bir ortamda yetiştiği, bu durumun da
sonraki yaşantısını olumlu anlamda etkilediği görülmüştür. İsminin
ön plana çıktığı Emevîler döneminde komutanlık, kadılık
ve valilik görevlerinde bulunmuştur. Toplum içinde oldukça
anlayış sahibi, barış taraftarı, mutedil, halim-selim, cömert ve
yardımsever bir yapıya sahip biri olarak tanınmaktadır. Annesi
ve dayısı gibi şâir bir kişiliği ve etkili bir hitap etme kabiliyeti
olduğu görülmüştür. Ayrıca bu kabiliyeti çocuklarına da sirayet
etmiştir. Âlimlerin çoğunluğuna göre Rasûlullah (sav) zamanında
yaşı küçük de olsa hadis işitmiş ve naklettiği hadisler hadis
kaynaklarında yer almıştır. Çok yönlü bir kişiliğe sahip olduğu
anlaşılan Nu‘mân b. Beşîr, yaşadığı dönemde ortaya çıkan tarihî
olay ve olgularda uzlaşmacı ve yapıcı bir tavır ile hareket ederek
aktif rol üstlenmiş, dönemin önemli simalarından biri olmasıyla
İslam tarihinde önemli bir yere sahip olmuştur.

Being acquainted with the lives of the generation who lived in
Asr al-Saadat and had the privilege of being the Companions of
the Messenger of Allah is of great importance for believers who
strive to understand and live the religion. Additionally, recognizing
the Companions will not only shed light on the correct
understanding and interpretation of historical events and facts
but also contribute to the science of History. Starting from this
point of view, this thesis study focuses on the life and activities
of Nu‘mân b. Bashir who is regarded as one of the child Companions
and the first of those born from Ansār after the Prophet’s
migration to Medina.
The document analysis technique of the qualitative research
method was used in this thesis study, which was prepared according
to the researcher’s writing approach. In the light of the
data obtained from the information scattered in the books of History,
Tabakât, Teracim, Hadith, Futuhat, and Ansab, systematic
planning was made, and the period from the birth of Nu’man b.
Bashir till his death was tried to be presented in chronological
order. Throughout our study, document scanning, analysis, data
collection, and data analysis methods were applied. The documents
connected with the subject were analyzed, synthesized,
evaluated, compared, and interpreted.
al-Nu‘mân b. Bashir was a personage as being the first of the
children born among the Ansār in the second year of Prophet
Muhammad’s migration to Madinah. It has been observed
that he grew up in an environment, in which there were people
around him mindful of a lifestyle based on the Qur’an and the
Sunnah, hence Islam came to life, and this situation positively
affected his later life. During the Umayyad period, when his
name shone out, he served as a commander, qadi, and governor.
He was known in public as a man of great understanding, irenic,
moderate, mild-mannered, generous, and humanitarian. He was
considered a poet and eloquent just like his mother and uncle.
Additionally, he passed on this talent to his children. In compliance
with the larger number of scholars, even though he was
young at the time of the Messenger of Allah, he heard hadiths
and the hadiths he narrated were included in the hadith sources.
Thought of a multifaceted personality Nu‘mân b. Bashir occupies
an important place in the history of Islam for being one of the
important figures of the period; since he took an active role in
the historical events and phenomena that emerged in his period
by acting in a conciliatory and constructive manner.
