Âsım’ın Nesli Bedeni Sıhhatli Karakteri Sağlam Özlenen Nesil
Mehmet Âkif Ersoy, İstiklal Marşı’mızın şairi millî mücadele ruhunun manevi kahramanlarından biri olarak; maddi ve manevi hayatımız üzerinde derin tesirler icra etmiş sembol şahsiyetlerden biridir. Bu çalışmanın ana konusunu teşkil eden Âsım, Mehmet Âkif’in bir özlem ve ideal olarak görmek istediği, ümit bağladığı gençliğin sembol ismidir. Bu çalışmada öncelikle “Âsım kimdir?” sorusuna bu hususta serdedilen görüşler muvacehesinde cevap arandı. Sonra Safahat’ta Köse İmam’ın (Ali Şevki Bey) oğlu olan Âsım karakteri etrafında gelişen olaylar çerçevesinde Âsım’ın ruh, beden, hamiyet-i diniyye ve milliye yönüyle ortaya çıkan özellikleri anlatıldı. Âkif’in düşünce dünyasının şiirsel ifadesi olan Safahat’ta Mehmet Âkif’in, Âsım’ın ta kendisi olduğu tezinden hareketle Âsım’ın şahsında sembolize edilen ve vatan toprağını namahreme çiğnetmeyen o şanlı neslin düşünce dünyası, hedefledikleri ve gerçekleştirmek istedikleri gayeleri ortaya kondu. Ruh ve beden imtizacının en güzel örneğini teşkil eden; bir karakter abidesi olarak sembolleşen ve özlemini çektiğimiz Âsım’ın Nesli’nin örnek şahsiyetlerini Safahat’ın o yürek titreten mısralarından hareketle, herbirinin bir Âsım olması arzusuyla, bu vatan gençliğine takdim edildi.

Âsim’s Generation The Long-Wished Generation with a Healthy Body and Strong Character
Mehmet Akif Ersoy, the poet of our National Anthem, is one of the spiritual heroes of the national struggle spirit; he is one of the symbolic figures who have had a deep impact on our material and spiritual lives. Asım, which constitutes the main subject of this study, is the symbolic name of the youth that Mehmet Akif wanted to see as a longing and ideal, and in which he pinned his hopes. In this study, first of all, the question of “Who is Asım?” was sought to be answered in terms of the views put forward on this subject. Then, within the framework of the events that developed around the character of Asım, the son of Köse İmam (Ali Şevki Bey) in Safahat, Asım’s characteristics that emerged in terms of spirit, body, religious zeal and nationalism were explained. Safahat, the poetic expression of Akif’s world of thought, based on the thesis that Mehmet Akif was Asim himself, the world of thought of that glorious generation, symbolized in Asim’s person and who did not allow the unfamiliar to trample on the homeland, and the goals they aimed for and wanted to achieve were revealed. The exemplary personalities of Asim’s generation, who are the most beautiful example of the harmony of spirit and body; who are symbolized as a monument of character and whom we long for, were presented to the youth of this country with the desire that each of them be an Asim, based on those heart-throbbing verses of Safahat.
